Selecting the proper thread for footwear products is very important to minimize sewing and seam performance issues and still maintain those qualities important to consumers. There is an old saying that:

Anefil Nylon® (Twisted Multifilament Nylon)

Applications: Uppers (seaming, hand sewing, and embroidery); Lasting (thread and cord); and Soles or Bottoms (Goodyear Welt and Littleway).

  • Superior strength to other thread constructions of equal size.

Waxed Polyester Hand Sewing Threads

Applications: Hand sewing.

Braided Bottoming Thread (Cotton or  Polyester)

Applications: Sole and bottom stitching.

Anefil Poly® (Twisted Multifilament Polyester)

Performance Bobbin® (Monocord and Twisted Multifilament)  
  • Loosely packed to speed production.

  • Precision wound to guarantee consistent yards per bobbin.

  • With or without sides.


Anefil® DuPont™ Kevlar® (Twisted Multifilament)

Applications: Fire protection footwear.
 
  • Excellent resistance to short term heat exposure.

  • Excellent strength.

  • Good resistance to most organic solvents.

  • Not affected by age.

  • Excellent mildew resistance.

Applications: Serging.
 
  • High initial modulus for excellent loop formation.
